It has been a while since I wrote you a message last time. Nothing has changed. My schedule is still packed even after I returned home from Lausanne.
I have been involved with three TV programs recently. These programs will be broadcast in the near future, so please watch out for them. The program called “What!?,” may deserve special attention, for in this program I have introduced a training which anybody can do at home using only newspapers. I think it can be quite interesting.
Yesterday, I attended a 100 year anniversary event of Miyoshi, the town I live. The day’s event included the performance by a local brass band and singing of my song (a song to cheer me to do well in the competition) by people of Miyoshi. My attendance for the event was meant to cheer up the people of my town, but in reality they were cheering me. I feel lucky to have my town’s people cheering for me all the time.
Other day, when I went to see a collegiate hammer throw competition I noticed the lack of excitement during the completion. The athletes’ mood was declining throughout the round. And it was not just one athlete, but as if the declining mood was contagious, everyone seemed to be in daze. I did not see athletes excited about the competition. I feel that they ought to take up bigger challenges. Although the athletes may not be in a good shape all the time, through training they ought to learn to break out of any bad situations.
Earlier, I have received a great advice from Mr. Sadaharu Oh, who I admire greatly. He said, “If you tell yourself that you are in good shape even when you are not, then you will perform well.” With the right attitude, everyone might be able to carve out bright future for themselves.
I have entered the rest phase after the Super Track & Field Meet. After recovering from the fatigue accumulated during the past season, I hope to shoot for the next goal.
