Murofushi to give presentation and demonstration at the World Class Throws Coaching Conference: Loughbrough University, UK

December 15 - 16, Murofushi will make a presentation and demonstration as one of the lead presenters at the gWorld Class Throws Coaching Conferenceh, Loughbrough University in the UK, organized by the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund co-hosted by the UK Athletics.

This conference is held with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of the UK in the throwing events at the London Olympics in 2012. More than 300 coaches and athletes are planning to attend.

In addition to lectures covering such things as throwing techniques and training, Murofushi will also demonstrate practical skills of hammer throwing.

The lecture was entitled gHistory making athlete Koji Murofushi: Thank you for the dreamh, organized by the PTA of the school. About 500 students and their parents attended.

4th with 74.31M; the SEIKO SUPER TRACK AND FIELD MEET AT YOKOHAMA 2007

SEIKO SUPER TRACK AND FIELD MEET AT YOKOHAMA 2007 was held in NISSAN Stadium in Kanagawa Prefecture on September 30. In the Menfs Hammer throw, 6 athletes participated including the medalists of the World Championships in OSAKA.

The competition took place under chilly and severe conditions, Murofushi marked 74.31M placing 4th.

IAAF World Athletics Final; Koji 3rd with 77.95M

The world Athletics Final, in which only the yearfs top athletes of the World Grand Prix are eligible to compete, was held in Stuttgart for two days from September 22nd to 23rd.

The Menfs Hammer throw was on the 23rd and Murofushi marked 77.95M and finished third. Ivan Tikhon, Belarus, threw 82.05M and won, Krisztian Pars, Hungary took 2nd place with 78.42m.

Koji 2nd at the Athletics Bridge 2007 in Dubnica

The Athletic Bridge 2007 was held on September 16th and Koji finished second with 78.73M. Ivan Tikhon recorded 81.29M and won first prize.

Won with his personal best record at the Rieti Grand Prix

Koji claimed a victory marking 82.62M in the Menfs Hammer Throwing, at the IAAF World Athletic Tour held in Rieti, Italy.

Koji threw 80.46M on his 5th throw and came out on top but Ivan Tihon, Rep. of Belarus, inverted with the mark 82.61M. On his 6th throw Koji bested that result by 1 centimeter and scored a victory.

Koji reelected to the Athletesf Commission

The IAAF on September 1st published the results of the elections for Athletesf Commission Members, who offer their opinions regarding the organization of the Athletic games from the standpoint of athletes. Since 4 years ago, Murofushi has been serving as an Athleticsf Commission Member, this time he was reelected with 913 votes, which put him in 2nd place.

The voting was done by the athletes of the 2007 World Championships in Athletics in Osaka and he was chosen as one of the 12 members out of 18 candidates. A 4-year term was mandated for the candidates who received the top 6 numbers of votes, and the remaining 6 received a 2 year term.

6th Place at World Championships OSAKA , Tentatively Selected as National Representative to the Beijing Olympics

Koji placed 6th in the Hammer Throwing competitions at the World Championships in OSAKA with 80.46M. The competition was very exciting with 7 finalists out of 12 recording over 80M and at the 6th throw Ivan Tihon marked 83.63M and got a dramatic upset victory.

By receiving the 6th prize, Koji was tentatively selected as one of the Beijing Olympics national representatives.

Koji achieves 13th Straight Victory in the Japanese Championships: Selected as the National Representatives for the World Championships in OSAKA

Koji took first place with a throw of 79.24m in the menfs hammer throwing at the 91st Japanese Championships on June 30th. He has won for 13 consecutive years in the Japanese Championships.

The JAAF board meeting, July 2, selected Murofushi as one of the Japanese representatives for the World Championships taking place in Osaka from August 25.

Koji will compete in the 91st Japanese Championships

The 91st Japanese Championships will be held at the Nagai stadium in Osaka from June 29 to July 1.

Koji Murofushi is going to participate in the menfs hammer throwing starting at 15:30 on June 30. Please cheer him on during his first match of this season.

gKidsf Athleticsh is a project organized by the IAAF which aims to introduce children to athletics. Unfortunately, it rained, so the event was held in an indoor practice field of the Nagai stadium, where about 70 primary school students from the Osaka region took part in the event.

Koji has set off for gSan Jose camph

To prepare for the coming season, Murofushi has headed for San Jose, the U.S., on April 18. He will stay there about 2 weeks. The opening competition of the season is an overseas championship scheduled for June.
